King County Education Reengagement Workshops
King County Superior Court has partnered with Unleash the Brilliance to help reengage youth with their education. Workshops are coordinated by Unleash the Brilliance, and empower students and families with an understanding of the importance of education, how to access supports at school, and the attendance laws of Washington State.
Unleash the Brilliance Education Reengagement Workshops are open to all youth in King County, with or without a truancy petition. Workshops for middle and high school students are youth led, and inspire young people to “take charge of their future and connect with their community” (Terrell Dorsey, founder UTB). Parents of elementary school students can attend an informational workshop that explores strategies for encouraging regular school attendance and accessing supports at their child’s school.

Unleash the Brilliance’s vision is to inspire youth to proactively engage in their education and to share tools that empower students to positively engage in their future and with their community. UTB’s workshops are predominately youth-led, and offer follow up opportunities for youth and parents. Interpreters available upon advanced request.
